We are Here!
After quite an eventful trip we are finally here and getting settled in Lawrence. Be on the look out for some Grand Kansas Opening specials as well as new pictures on the website and look on the blog.
I'm still getting stuff unpacked and organized here at the house as well as exploring the area (so many great locations for shoots!), finding a preschool for my lovies, etc. I'm planning on opening sessions in the second or third week of March. Email me if you would like to reserve your session now since until we are completely settled and adjusted, I will only be doing a limited amount of sessions a month.
I'm LOVING Lawrence so much already and look forward to capturing your life out here!

Valentine's Special!
Before Leaving for Kansas, I'm offering valentine's day mini sessions.
This session will cost $100 and includes 2 5x7's and 30 4x5 valentine cards, like shown above or 1 8x10, 4 5x7's and 16 wallets. These cards are great to pass out at school or mail to family, or we can do pictures of you for your sweetheart this valentine's day!
I can also do a few regular sessions if you aren't looking for a packaged deal.

Happy New Year!
I'm sorry guys, I've been a terrible blogger. We have had so much going on with the move, and the holidays that the end of the year seemed to come and go leaving me with little time. Steve moved out to Kansas right after we got back from Disney, and we were planning on joining him after the house sold, but it's been too hard on us as a family.
So we have an official move date. We will be leaving for Lawrence February first. I am hoping to be settled by the end of the month and start booking sessions at the beginning of March. I'm whipping up a promotion to kick off the big move and will post details in the next couple weeks.
Here is to a great year in 2009! I'm looking forward to our new adventure in Kansas.

Maria Hays Photography is Moving to Kansas!
Wow, it's been about two months since my last post, someone ought to shoot me for being a terrible blogger!
Well after searching all over the country for a job for Steve, we are ending up in Lawrence, Kansas (about 30 minutes from Kansas City). I'm sad to leave Albuquerque and all the beautiful families here that have let me capture moments of their life. I do promise to have sessions when we come back to visit, which will be at least a couple times a year (we are only a 12 hour drive).
I have a couple sessions left at the end of the month for anyone looking to book before we move but you need to contact me no later than Friday the 10th.
We will be out of town from the 18th -21st for our Disney World vacation!!
I will post some pictures from my recent sessions tomorrow, I've been editing like a crazy mad woman!

My New Blog!
Okay after tinkering around and figuring out that I have no html skill whatsoever I have decided to stick with blogger for my photography blog. At least for now, this is the only one that I could figure (well mostly figure) out how to put in my own background and my own header (although you probably notice a random dot in the middle of my header, it's because I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the blogger title, and it wouldn't let me leave the title of the blog blank so I just put in a period and thus the random dot). **** Update thanks to some help the dot is now gone, problem solved :)
Okay so I thought for the first post I would go ahead and post some of my latest sessions. I have some recent fun ones to post but I'm waiting on my new computer because this one has had enough of my raw files and photoshop and takes about a half hour to just upload one picture, so until then enjoy these!
